Naoki Yoshida has revealed that he wants to release a PC version of Final Fantasy XVI, but it’s unlikely to happen within 6 months of the PS5 version.

Naoki Yoshida: Final Fantasy XVI May Get a PC Version, But Not For Long
Speaking at PlayStation Blog Japan, Naoki Yoshida revealed that he “wants to release a PC version” of Final Fantasy XVI “sometime in the future”.
Naoki also confirmed that the PC version will not be released within 6 months of the PS5 version, considering Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed that the game is a 6-month exclusive on PS5.
Final Fantasy XVI was indeed a limited-time exclusive game for 6 months on the PS5 platform. However, it is a completely different story that the PC version will release in half a year’s time. I’ll make it clear: the PC version will not be out in half a year.
This is because we spent a lot of time and money optimizing the PS5 platform to provide the best gaming experience. Of course, I would like to release a PC version at some point in the future so that everyone can play this game as much as possible.
However, even if we start optimizing the PC version after the PS5 version comes out, we won’t be able to optimize it within half a year, so it won’t be out within half a year. I’d like to release it eventually, and I think I will, but I’m not at a stage where I can say when.
First of all, I would love it if you could play the PS5 version that I made with the thought of it being the best game in the world. If the PC version comes out in half a year, I can quit the company (laughs). Please don’t say, ‘I won’t buy the PS5 version because the PC version is coming out in half a year.’Naoki Yoshida, Producer of Final Fantasy XVI
Final Fantasy XVI will release on PS5 on June 22, 2023.
