Hidemaro Fujibayashi and Eiji Aonuma Interested in Zelda Movie After Mario’s Success
Speaking with Polygon, Eiji Aonuma and Hidemaro Fujibayashi were asked if the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie got them excited about the prospect of an adaptation of The Legend of Zelda.
Although they confirmed that there was interest, it was ultimately not up to them.
“I have to say, I’m interested. Of course, I am. But, unfortunately, I’m not the only one interested in something that makes things happen,” says Aonuma.
Fujibayashi then added, “Maybe the voice of the fans is the important thing here.”
It’s easy to see why the prospect of a The Legend of Zelda movie adaptation is so exciting, as The Super Mario Bros. Movie recently became the film that broke the USD 1 billion mark at the global box office.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
