There’s a bug in Baldur’s Gate 3 that makes players unable to save the game, and it’s causing quite a stir on the internet. As a result, many have lost their game progress.
Many players complained on the Steam Forum and asked for solutions. One player said, “This problem plus the crash made me have to start again from creating a character until the first 20 minutes on the ship. Not a good start anyway.”
Players who encountered the issue complained that their game would not run because it was stuck in the synchronization section, unable to save or load in Baldur’s Gate 3. Some players suggested turning off the cross-platform save feature, which worked for some but not for others. Some players went as far as deleting it.

According to IGN, the developers claim that they know about the problem while providing an FAQ that contains several solutions, including turning off Windows Defender and other programs. There was also one player who suggested steps:
- Turn off cloud synchronization for Baldur’s Gate 3 game
- Hapus folder “C:\Users\myUser\AppData\Local\Larian\StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3”
- Start the game and don’t turn on the cloud sync.
Meanwhile, Baldur’s Gate 3 was instantly sought after on Steam, with over 400,000 people playing along in just a few hours. The game was first announced in 2019, and Baldur’s Gate 3 spent several years in early access before finally releasing on PC this week.
The first response from players has been very positive, and there are indications that this game will be one of the coolest games of 2023. But, before that, Larian Studios had to eliminate some technical issues.
