The newly released NBA 2K24 is now the second worst-rated Steam game of all time after a backlash from PC gamers. The $60 basketball game, developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K, earned a “very negative” user review rating on Steam, where players tore apart the PC version.
The long list of complaints includes the fact that the PC version is once again not on par with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S versions (the PC version of EA Sports FC 24) as well as rampant cheating, and a lack of cross-play in key modes.
NBA 2K24 Receives Very Negative Reviews on Steam
This furor was self-sparked by a PC player base that was fed up with the state of the game on the Windows platform. One player reviewed that NBA 2K24 has the same animation and gameplay as the version from two years ago. Of course, he also highlighted the number of players using illegal programs on the first day of the game’s release.
In addition, NBA 2K24 has come under fire for its extremely aggressive microtransactions. However, the purchases in this game are mandatory and not optional. This makes players have to buy them to be able to compete with other players.
Due to overwhelmingly negative reviews, NBA 2K24 is now second in Steam250’s Hall of Shame, just below Overwatch 2 which received similar treatment last month.
