Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Delayed to 2024?
Bloomberg reports that Warner Bros. Games has delayed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League until the second half of 2023 following negative responses to the recent gameplay demo. Before Bloomberg, Jez Corden had claimed on Twitter that the game had been delayed until Q4 2023.
Jason Schreier added on Twitter that delays like this are only “to polish, not to overhaul the core gameplay that caused the negative reaction”. He claimed that Squad: Kill the Justice League was originally planned as a Games-as-a-Service and if the game was getting a reboot, then the delay would be even longer.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was showcased during State of Play in February 2023, but the game received some criticism from its fans due to live-service elements, such as the requirement to play online even in single-player mode.
Following Blomberg’s report, Jeff Grubb said from his reliable sources that Squad: Kill the Justice League might not be released until 2024.
I don’t want to cause panic or anything, but I heard it’s not even coming this year, I heard 2024.
Last night I heard, they were like, ‘this is a really long delay’, like this is a bigger delay than what’s being reported out there.
We’ll see. That is difficult to ascertain. I will say that this source has always been a very good source.Jeff Grubb, Journalist at Giant Bomb
It is unknown whether all the above reports are true or not, so we can only see Squad: Kill the Justice League shift to 2024 or stick to 2023.
