The story of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria takes players out of the book and into the Fourth Age of Middle-Earth, the fantasy world created by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Summoned to the Misty Mountains by Lord Gimli Lockbearer, players take control of a group of Dwarves tasked with reclaiming the lost treasure of the Dwarven homeland of Moria – known as Khazad-dûm or Dwarrowdelf – in the depths beneath their feet.
Their quest will require grit and teamwork, digging deep into the Moria Mine to recover its treasures in the hopes of one day restoring it to its former glory.
In The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, players will create their own customized Dwarf before venturing into the cavernous mines of Moria alone or together with fellow Dwarves online.
Each adventure into the depths will present unique challenges and opportunities through the use of procedurally generated environments, creating almost endless possibilities as players seek the deepest excavations of the Dwarves.
As they venture deeper, the Dwarves must ensure that their metal is ready for the dangers that lie within, crafting tough armor and well-honed weapons capable of protecting and defeating any type of goblin, arachnoid, or more mysterious foe they may encounter.
Delve into the mysteries of the Misty Mountains unearth precious metals prized by the Dwarves, rebuild and restart long-dormant workshops, and learn the secrets of the Shadows that lurk within.
